ENCAUSTIC

Encaustic is an ancient technique that uses pigmented beeswax and encaustic medium. These elements are heated and once melted, are used to create a painting on a wood panel. Since it needs to be heated, and involves fumes, it will have to be created in a ventilated space.

My first approach to this technique was in 2016. I took a workshop at Plaza Art, Rockville with artist Angela White and I loved it. Since then, I started experimenting and took more online workshops with artist Alicia Tourmey to keep learning and mastering the technique.
